ABSTRACT

Swingler writes the chorale finale of Bush’s Piano Concerto, and edits The Left Song Book with Bush. He is active in the Ralph Fox Group, the LBC Poets Group and the Writers and Readers Group. He and Bush rewrite Handel’s Belshazzar. Swingler negotiates with Penguin to expand Left Review. When this fails Swingler launches Fore Publications, selling half a million Key Books in twelve months. He starts to edit Poetry and the People and writes Advance Democracy for Benjamin Britten. He is friends with Paul Eisler and Roger Woddis. He writes Crisis for Unity Theatre.
