ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at the ambiguous ecology of digital space in detail and discusses the practical implications that follow concerning teaching pupils to work out their creative, making processes in digital space. In this, the act of teaching is discussed in light of improvisation, where teacher’s improvisational act takes place in a microenvironment. This microenvironment is a collaborative, open environment, placing not only demands of the teacher and the teacher’s competencies in terms of teaching, but also placing demands on the teacher’s competencies in terms of understanding artistic space in the post-digital era, understanding digital space, and developing pedagogical artistic research skills. The result of this discussion leads us to question how such competencies for teaching and making in digital space can be developed for the post-digital era.
