ABSTRACT

This chapter pulls together the policy space of coaching, coaches, and sport development, analysing how professional practice in one often distinct domain overlaps with that of more broad sport development. It considers how, increasingly, coaching delivery is part of a multitude of other areas of practice and policy with elite, community, sport-for-development, or targeted work with BAME, women and girls or disabled people. It also gives an overview of the 2018 UKCC Coaching Review, the evolving coaching system in the UK, and emergent paths in other home nations.
