ABSTRACT
This is a valedictory summary of Maurits and, overall, of how he fulfilled the 4 major factors necessary for a successful revolt. William of Orange took the Revolt from small beginnings and forged a nation. Frederick Henry, by military victories, added more territory to the Dutch Republic. But chronologically coming between them was Maurits, who continued the Dutch Revolt and ensured its survival.
