ABSTRACT

The organizing theme in this chapter is learning to teach. A central idea in learning to teach is change and development with the belief that developmental growth is predicated on examining current teaching/learning experiences in light of future action. A significant goal of this chapter is coming to realize that change is a necessary part of development. Key questions explored in this chapter focus on how teachers become successful at what they do, how teachers learn to “act” like teachers, and how teachers begin to “think” like teachers.
