ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author begins with a model of transformation: suppose a number of marbles of different colours and sizes, ½, ¾ and 1 in diameter, lying in a tray. He uses the marbles in the second tray as the O for further transformation. The categories, like the sizes and colours of the marbles, may be regarded as ‘dimensions’ of the statement. The author illustrates a particular form of transformation and to approach it by consideration of the elements of a statement and its dimensions as manipulated in a mental domain where thoughts are not distinguished from things and the mind is felt to operate as if it were a muscle. The suggestion of projective transformations differentiated from rigid motion transformations is but one step to indicate the possibilities. Transformation, in rigid motion or projection, must be seen to have hallucinosis as one of its media.
