ABSTRACT

This chapter will conclude the book by summarising the findings of the research. It starts by providing an overall picture of the research by viewing briefly the main points and analytical direction of this book. The second section will concentrate on the application of the analytical framework and the brief outline of main empirical findings. It will first demonstrate how the neo-Gramscian IPE approach adopted in this book helped to develop a robust understanding of the Uzbek state and its cooperation with major powers. Then it will outline the application of this framework to understand the role of the major powers analysed in the book. Based on all the findings and analyses, the chapter will claim that Uzbekistan is more likely to establish long-term cooperation with powers like China and Russia than Western ones, like the US, the EU as well as Japan. The last section of this chapter will conclude by providing overall contributions of the book, as well as its limitations and avenues for further research.
