ABSTRACT

It is vital that the SSC/OAATC coach is able to structure the session effectively. Otherwise, they will only do part of the work that they need to do to help the person get the most out of the session. Michael Hoyt (2000, 2018) has put forward one such structure. He argues that a single session has five phases. One phase is best seen as merging into the next, rather than as separate from it. However, in this chapter, I will discuss each phase separately.
