ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book covers the history of human migration back and forth all over the world. It examines ethnic conflict by overviewing the situation of the people from Tamil Nadu, India being recruited as indentured labourers by the British government to work in the tea estates in Kandy region in Sri Lankan before independence. Using primary data and empirical analysis, the book explores the socio-economic dimensions, and explores the psychological-mental health dimensions which are important indicators for human growth. The cramped housing in the camps has easily led to the spread of viral diseases: viral fever, malaria, small-pox are common. The book analyses the political and legal dimensions pertinent to leading a dignified life. Housing for refugees in the literature has been directly associated with politics which involved policy-level decision-making.
