ABSTRACT

There are shelves and shelves of books and thousands of websites dedicated to helping people become successful. Digital grazing is referred to as the practice of continually checking work email after work hours or on vacation. Short bursts of working 12-hour days to bring a crucial task home may be a necessary evil, but on a normal week, stop working more than 40 hours. Projects are tricky endeavors. The right project going the wrong way can end one's employment, even if everything possible is done to make the project successful. Negotiating contracts with external entities is a business acumen skill that project managers should possess in the eyes of the Project Management Institute. Little energy is put forth to cover these topics for certifications or within their published standards.
