ABSTRACT

This chapter considers a text by the Colombian author Juan Esteban Constaín which praises the work of traditional craftsmen and laments their disappearance. The exercises within this chapter require the investigation of the situation of such workers in Colombia and their contribution to the economy, together with a more general reflection on the future of such skills in a changing world. Negative prefixes are studied within vocabulary and grammar ranges over the use of the personal pronouns le and lo and adjective position with nouns. Production exercises are the description and relation of an extraordinary local event and the presentation of an argued response to the view that evolution in the world of work is inevitable.
