ABSTRACT
This chapter considers a short opinion article from the Barcelona daily paper La vanguardia which warns of the dangers of excessive amounts of time spent on social media and gaming at the expense of broader education. The exercises in this chapter invite discussion on this theme and the opportunity to present an opposite opinion from a young person’s point of view. Work on vocabulary also calls attention to complex adverbial expressions. Grammatical points covered are the use of the future tenses and comparisons with cuanto. Production exercises are the drafting of a letter giving personal opinions to the author of the article and the expression of a view of what the future holds in store for the younger generation.
