ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews a text that deals with national stereotypes, outlining the particular case of how Uruguayans are perceived by Argentines. The exercises within the chapter follow on from this, and also ask for research on Uruguay and some prominent Uruguayans; a number of activities relating to the Spanish of the River Plate area are also proposed. The expression of opinion about the construction of national histories is also invited. Grammar covers comparative forms and structures and the use of affective diminutive suffixes. Production also involves a presentation on former Uruguayan President José Mujica.
