ABSTRACT

The actions that comprised the last physical score, made for the lyric project, were solely derived from personal sources. The complexities presented by dramatic literature: given circumstances, character analysis, and context invite a wider range of possibilities from which to source physical actions. With the addition of possible derivations from operative words or even images, the temptation to create mimetic or illustrative actions might occur. It's generally a good idea to create the action based on an association or reaction to a particular image, or word. The action could also be modified with a different emphasis on a rule of the body. There are many ways to an action for its ‘off spring’ by applying different tools: segmentation, rules of composition, and rules of the body to find different articulations.
