ABSTRACT

The chapter gives an overall summary of the book and brings out the arguments of all the stakeholders together for analysis. It theoretically reflects upon how various stakeholders, as members of various coalitions formed to support or oppose the use of GM technology in agriculture, show their various concerns to influence the policymaking process. Their concerns could be related to higher yield for income, upcoming changes in environment and biodiversity, health of animals feeding on Bt cotton plants and ownership-related issues. After critically reviewing the various concerns of stakeholders, the chapter further theorises to observe various concerns reflected by stakeholders holistically rather than separately before coming to any explicit policy decisions regarding the matter.
