ABSTRACT

Obesity has become a major burden for every industrialized country. The health care costs and physical toll on the individual is undebatable. However, for most, the cause of obesity is far more related to parental or personal irresponsibility as this chapter will illustrate, and it is not a disease as the American Medical Association would like you to believe. Obesity is acquired through years of parental or personal irresponsibility or a combination of both. The obesity problem will never be resolved unless parents take a far more responsible role in their children’s lifestyle habits than they currently do, and as adults, through education and better lifestyle choices.
