ABSTRACT

One of Britain’s leading women playwrights, Sarah Daniels’ work includes Masterpieces, Byrthrite, The Devil’s Gateway, Neaptide, Beside Herself, The Gut Girls and The Madness of Esme and Shaz, produced at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in 1994. Daniels was the first woman to have a lesbian play, Neaptide, staged at the Royal National Theatre (in 1986), while her play Masterpieces is one of the most frequently performed feminist plays in many cultures. All her plays are published by Methuen.
