ABSTRACT
The Hairy Marys is a women’s physical theatre and dance company based in London. The current company has three core members: Carmelle McAree, Siân Stevenson (director) and Susan Swanton, who work as an ensemble to create theatre which entertains, stimulates and invigorates its audiences. The first incarnation of The Hairy Marys was a larger group, formed of women with Irish roots or interests in Irish dancing and comedy. Shows have included the acclaimed Travels on Testos (1993).
