ABSTRACT
Best known in the UK for writing and starring in Absolutely! — a very popular TV show which had run for five seasons when this book went to press in 1995 — Morwenna Banks has also made an academic study of comedy. With Amanda Swift, Banks co-authored the book The Joke’s on Us: Women In Comedy from the Music Hall to the Present (Pandora Press, 1987). This interview was conducted in Los Angeles, where Banks worked in 1993/4 on a new television pilot.
