ABSTRACT

Jackie Kay is a playwright and poet. Her first play, Chiarascuro, was first produced by Theatre of Black Women in 1986. Her play Twice Over was first produced by Gay Sweatshop in 1990; and her latest play, Twilight Shift, was produced by 7:84 Scotland in 1993. She has also published fiction in Everyday Matters 2 (1984), and Stepping Out (1986). A selection of her poetry is published in A Dangerous Knowing: Four Black Women Poets (Sheba, 1983), and her best-known collection of poetry, The Adoption Papers, is published by Bloodaxe (1991).
