ABSTRACT

Bryony Lavery has been involved in the development of British alternative theatre since the 1970s, and has taken part — as a performer and as a writer — in productions with many key women’s groups including Monstrous Regiment and Dramatrix, the group which produces the hugely successful annual lesbian feminist pantos at the Drill Hall in London. Her recent plays include Her Aching Heart, Two Marias, Wicked and Origin of the Species. Her interview here is best read in conjunction with the ‘Afterword’ printed in this volume.
