ABSTRACT

Although she was born in Canada and did not come to Britain until the age of 23, Kathleen McCreery has been deeply involved in political theatre in the UK. She was a member of Red Ladder from 1969 to 1974, went on to help found Broadside Theatre, and co-authored the book Theatre as a Weapon (Routledge, 1986). She began her career as an actor, but has also worked as a radio journalist and lecturer. She now concentrates on writing, with occasional forays into directing.
