ABSTRACT

Anti-Israeli journalists soon developed a standard formula for exploiting the Holocaust. The term Holocaust came into use to describe the uniquely terrible fate that had befallen the Jews of Europe: They had become the first, though not necessarily the last, people to be singled out for complete physical annihilation. The most determined, sustained, and dangerous attempt to steal the Holocaust was begun by the Soviet Union and the Arab world after the 1967 Middle East war, and is one of the most lethal weapons deployed against the land of Israel and the people Israel. The triumphant stroke in the campaign to steal the Holocaust from the Jews by inverting the roles of the victim and the predator was the Soviet-inspired “Zionism is racism” UN resolution of 1975. Stealing the Holocaust became central in the ideology of the most militant and aggressive of anti-Israeli groups, particularly the American Friends Service Committee.
