ABSTRACT
This chapter tries to capture the essence of each of the forthcoming chapters, all of which help us to understand the causal chains that underlie the macroeconomic impact of AI. Each section deals with a different chapter and because the summary presented therein is short, the reader is helped to concretize her aggregative view of the mechanisms that generate the economic benefits and disbenefits owing their genesis to the development of AI as well as her appreciation of how these mechanisms can be tinkered with to retain and even enhance these benefits while containing the mentioned negative fallout. Thus enabled, the reader is readied to join the author in a view of the book in the last section of this chapter which lays out what the book has achieved and the future agenda that it feeds into.
