ABSTRACT

The third chapter focuses on theological interpretations of the proclamation of the word of God. Three essential concepts are clarified to locate discourse on the place of God's word in the life of the Abrahamic faiths: the notion of revelations, the sacramentality of the sacred scriptures, and the significance of the holy in worship spaces. It outlines the theological underpinnings of the act of public proclamation and recitation of scripture and its interaction with the sacred space.
