ABSTRACT

For the umpteenth time I received a note of rejection for one of my plays. Now, there is nothing unusual about this, since I’ve been receiving these rejection notes for most of my adult life, but, not looking on the gloomy side, these billets-doux have revved up my willpower to put my plays on myself. This I have been doing and have toured the world with them. On a rare occasion a theatre director might just take a chance on me, but it’s been less than a handful in fifty years. And I have been most grateful since it has spared me the always daunting task of casting actors, raising money and searching for theatres and often financing the plays myself.
