ABSTRACT

This chapter shares little-known ways to get the press to pursue the reader, such as through reporter queries or through the databases journalists use to search for experts. The reader is also assisted in crafting pitches that will get journalists and other audiences to listen, care, and spread the reader’s message. Information and exercises guide the reader through the process of identifying a message, crafting pitches, developing talking points, and considering varied ways to package a research-related message so that it is memorable and spreads easily.
