ABSTRACT

This chapter provides the fundamental (yet not always apparent) guidelines that apply to all writing opportunities described in the book: journal papers, magazine articles, blog posts, op-eds, books, and more. The chapter is broken into four writing stages: before writing (planning), while writing, after writing, and after receiving a verdict. Readers are shown how to inject “magic” into any written piece so that the information in it is attention-grabbing, attention-holding, understandable, cared-about, action-inspiring, memorable, and shared with others. A Scrappy Fast Track is outlined for readers who want to ascend quickly to authorship.
