ABSTRACT

Big Data has become one of the hottest buzzwords over the last years. This chapter focuses on what Big Data is and how it can be used in combination with pricing analytics to create business value. It examines its applications in various industry sectors, introduce you to specific data analytics techniques that can be useful in pricing analytics, and go through a relevant case from real life. The chapter also focuses on how Excel can be used efficiently for pricing analytics when working with big data sets. Hence, to benefit from (big) data when it comes to pricing decisions, it seems like a good idea to start with specific research questions, and not the (big) data, tools, or techniques in general.
