ABSTRACT

Election to, and acceptance of, membership of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate binds those so elected to this code of conduct, and also to the Institute's memorandum and articles of association. This code of conduct applies to all members, regardless of grade held, or type or status of employment, whether they continue to practise or not and whether they are in membership in the United Kingdom or elsewhere. The Institute also recognises the far wider range of construction-related disciplines that have a key role to play in the delivery of value for money to the client. The cornerstone of Institute membership revolves around its network of meeting centres – the Chapters – originally developed to provide a focal point for members working in isolation to meet and discuss professional issues with their contemporaries. Members enjoy a variety of other benefits, which include the monthly journal/magazine SiteRecorder and access to technical advice and assistance.
