ABSTRACT
The introduction outlines the concept of the book that aims to investigate the role and position of female supporters in the football fandom culture. This section sketches the previous conceptual attempts to explore female fandom and shed light on added values that this book can provide to the existing state of knowledge. By doing so, it highlights the purpose of this study and methodological instruments used to make sense of changing football fandom culture under the influence of a growing number of women attending football matches. The last part of the introduction presents the structure of the book, explaining in detail the contribution of each chapter in the overall study.
