ABSTRACT

THE DAY AFTER the presentation, Denise was still walking on air when David asked her to join him for a presentation at sales’ annual spring meeting. It was a three-day conference where the East Coast sales representatives learned about new products, went through training, and were pressured by the higher-ups to commit to aggressive sales targets for the second half of the year. This time David, along with Sarah from quality, was asked to present on the latest quality efforts in the plant. The prognosis was that she would face rapid-fire hostile questions, given all the quality issues sales had been fielding for the past few months.
