ABSTRACT

DENISE WAS ON her way to the gym after an uplifting end to the week. It had been a gray and rainy January day and, as the evening grew colder, the raindrops became heavier, and the rain slowly transforming into slushy snowflakes. Denise flipped her windshield wipers up a level. Traffic was moving slowly. The heat was running full blast in her moss-green Mazda. She loved this sporty convertible, which she had been driving for several years, but it wasn’t great in snow. As usual, Denise found herself thinking about her workweek. With everything going on at Goldberg, it had been a mix but definitely better than the week before.
