ABSTRACT

This conclusion provides an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book. The book concentrates on the latter stages of the RIBA Plan of Work 2013, starting at Stage 4 Technical Design, through Stage 5 Construction and on to Stage 6 Handover and Close Out. It provides an insight into a number of ways in which the RIBA Plan of Work can be interpreted in order to deliver projects of all sizes and levels of complexity. The RIBA Plan of Work 2013 includes an additional stage: Stage 7 In Use. This covers the life of the building after handover up to demolition. To ensure that the architectural profession continues to produce high-quality outcomes for our built environment, it is beneficial if the design team are commissioned all the way through from Stage 2 Concept Design to Stage 6 Handover and Close Out.
