ABSTRACT

The exponential expansion of the internet has enabled vast amounts of data to be created and utilised every second. As production and management systems have evolved, the 2013 Plan places a specific focus on the requirements and content of Project Information, outlining what should be produced and, more specifically, when it should be produced, in support of a collaborative approach. These Information Exchanges define the purpose of the Project Information – how it can be used and what it should be used for – in order to develop the design solution and operate and maintain the facility. The Project Execution Plan will outline the key Project Strategies in support of each Information Exchange, including protocols, processes and best practice standards for structuring and managing the Project Information. The chapter also presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book.
