The data will underpin the efficient day-to-day use, operation and management of the completed facility, ensuring that the contract information is complete, the performance achieves the design intent and the required Project Outcomes have been delivered. The Information Exchange required at the Handover and Close Out stage comprises: updated ‘As-constructed’ Information. The data exchanged will comprise the operational and functional information supplied by the product manufacturers, times to first maintenance, replacement costs and warranty information. Computer-aided facilities management systems comprise a number of technologies and information sources. Digital copies of 2D information can be managed, collated and exchanged relatively easily, either via a web-based portal or on CD or DVD. Controlling the production and completeness of the Project Information will provide significant benefits within an asset management approach, whether for a single facility or a wide portfolio of projects.
