ABSTRACT
The total number of years will depend on the country where student are doing student's PhD, as well as the local traditions of student's university or the approach of student's supervisor. In Germany, the situation is different and it is common to spend more time on a PhD study. student are usually hired by student's research institution or the university to work on research projects and these can extend for years and years, thus extending the duration of student's PhD. Juggling so many things and remaining productive in student's PhD studies as a part-time student is a big challenge and planning and discipline are even more crucial than in the case of a full-time PhD student. Certain circumstances in student's research and in student's personal life can alter student's planning, affect student's progress, and cause student's PhD studies to stretch out for many more months or even years.
