ABSTRACT
CELESTINA having by her easy and gentle manners conquered part of the extreme diffidence of her companion, began to question her about her situation in life; and as she had one of those faces and one of those voices which win every heart where any spark of feeling is found, Jessy soon found herself enough at ease, and even flattered by the interest she seemed to take in her fate, as to acquire courage to relate the following narrative.
