ABSTRACT
In this letter, the wanderer presents an account of his meeting with the commander of a trading vessel in the port of Liverpool, to study the effect that different modes of life have on the human character. He narrates his journey towards the middle provinces of France and the loveliness of the scenery in this part of France. The wanderer describes his interaction with an infant botanist and the hospitality he received during his visit to this part of France.
