ABSTRACT
THE second order of birds, Picæ, are those that have compressed, convex, and mostly crooked bills, though some are extremely crooked, and others less so; it includes a great many birds, and those of different properties, and which feed in a very different manner. They pair in the spring, and the male and female are equally attentive to the care of their young.
