ABSTRACT

Mrs. Morley had no farther opportunity, that day, of speaking to lady Louisa alone. In the evening the lovely widow received a visit from sir Lionel Beacon, who had that morning arrived at Tunbridge, and who had been, during many months, the admirer of lady Louisa. Mrs. Morley’s fears were awakened by the danger of detection; and she even meditated a disclosure of all that had passed, rather than live in a state of perpetual inquietude.
