Postscript [To ‘System of the Heavens’]: A Manuscript Fragment

The fragment is in the Buffalo and Erie County Library as De Quincey Part II, #2 (30). It is clearly a preliminary jotting for De Quincey’s discussion, in his Postscript to ‘System of the Heavens’ in SGG III, of the predicament facing a spiritual teacher who might become diverted into instructing his audience on scientific matters. Date of composition is thus presumably 1854 or shortly before.
