ABSTRACT

WE have had a féte at the chateau, on the day of St. Augustin, who is Mons. du F—’s patron; and, though Mons. is become a protestant, I hope he will always show this mark of respect to his old friend St. Augustin. Indeed I am persuaded that Luther and Calvin, if they had been of our party, would have reconciled their minds to these charming rites of superstition.
