Conclusion

The conclusion and moral of the whole of these Discourses may be expressed in the homely proverb, Hoc age.^a Or, more poetically, in the language of the Hebrew sage, ‘Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might: for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave, whither thou goest.’^b
