ABSTRACT
8 In taking account of the universal use of union catalogues of serials, and the many types of agencies which compile them, it is apparent that there are great advantages in establishing some international uniformity not only in the contents but in the physical and editorial lay-out of printed and microfiche editions, and display in on-line systems.
