ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 focuses on understanding the OGAP Framework and Progression, which is based on math education research on how students develop ratio and proportion understanding and fluency. It is designed as a tool for teachers to gather evidence of student thinking, to inform instruction and to monitor student learning. Accumulating evidence by researchers indicates that knowledge and use of learning progressions positively impacts teachers’ knowledge and instruction and students’ motivation and achievement.
