The Afterword considers themes that can be traced in contemporary conservation and heritage practice that reference Ruskin's foundational thinking and inflections of it in current interdisciplinary work around heritage futures, cultural values, symbolic meanings and enriching possibilities of new anthropological and ethnographic explorations of craft and conservation. It ends with a short quotation from The Political Economy of Art.
