ABSTRACT
Analysis of the two case studies covered in this book – plastic wastes and the forest bioeconomy – as part of law and the transition to a circular economy is presented in this chapter. The analysis is framed around the five themes covered in Chapter 1: waste; prevention, reuse, recycling, and recovery of materials and waste; sustainable development; scale; and social equity for the benefit of current and future generations. The case study analysis demonstrates that although social equity is a category on its own, it is a crosscutting theme integral to all the themes.
