ABSTRACT
In simple terms, the conclusion of this book with respect to host computer location is that if a library chooses the in-house option, that library needs in-house computer expertise. If the expertise cannot be obtained, the recommendation is that a remote host option is probably a better bet. An in-house configuration does not by itself guarantee effective control of the system, but it greatly increases the need for a qualified staff to operate the system effectively.
