ABSTRACT
The previous chapter set out the theoretical basis for considering policy problems and their solutions, while this chapter aims to tell the story of NTDs through a policy history. NTDs have a short policy history, since the term was coined in the early 2000s, but preceding this was a longer history of tropical diseases (addressed in Chapter 4). I will cover NTDs as a term, then discuss how NTD policies developed, including the categorisation of the NTD disease list, to end with an analysis of what arose as dominant strategies for policy influence.
